FIRE & EMERGENCY BRIEFING FOR CLIENTS
In the event of an evacuation, BCEC staff will act as fire wardens to assist in the movement of patrons to the designated assembly area located at South Bank TAFE site – located on the corner of Merivale & Glenelg Street, South Brisbane (see diagram above).
The Centre has two distinct alarms: ALERT (1st tone) will sound throughout the building when the fire alarm is activated, or EVACUATION (2nd tone) if there is a pending emergency.
FIRST TONE – (Alert)

Should you hear the alert tone please adhere to the following:
Information regarding the situation will be announced by the Chief Fire Warden through the public address system within the Centre or follow staff directions.
SECOND TONE – (Evacuation)

Should you hear the evacuation tone, please adhere to the following:
Re-entry into the building will not occur until permission has been given by the Chief Fire Warden under the direction of the Qld Fire & Emergency Services.
If a fire is discovered at Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre:
The registration desk will be located on the Foyer Level of the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre.
Follow the signs and make your way up the escalators or elevator.
Please direct any questions you may have regarding registration, session attendance or other elements of the congress to Leishman Associates staff at this desk.
Delegates will be provided with an individual name badge which will give you access to all sessions and social events that you have registered to attend. This must be worn at all times within the congress venue.
An electronic copy of the handbook will be available for download from the website and emailed to you closer to the congress date. There will not be a printed copy available. An Event App will be available to download for iOS and Android through the App Stores.
WIFI is available at the conference venue, Brisbane Convention Exhibition Centre.
Delegates are not permitted to use any type of camera or recording device at any of the sessions unless written permission has been obtained from the relevant speaker. A professional photographer will be at the congress, if you have any issues with being photographed please notify the photographer or Leishman Associates staff.
Full Registration includes attendance to all sessions from 23- 27 September 2024. Full registration also includes, satchel, name badge, lunch, morning and afternoon refreshments, and entry to the Welcome Reception. Tickets to the conference dinner may be purchased separately at $100 each via the registration portal.
Day Registration includes attendance to sessions on the nominated day of attendance, satchel, name badge, and lunch, morning and afternoon refreshments on the day of attendance. Day registration does not include any of the social program functions. Tickets to attend any of the social functions need to be purchased separately.
You must advise if you have any special dietary requirements when you register for the congress. Caterers at each function will be informed of these. During the day there will be a buffet table offering food suitable for dietary requirements. If you are unsure, please don’t hesitate to ask staff at the registration desk.
IMPORTANT– If your dietary request relates to a life-threatening allergy, please ensure that you advise the organisers as soon as possible.
Yes, you most certainly can – additional tickets can be booked when you registered online, or through the Leishman Associates office. Please email your request to sharon@laevents.com.au if you have already registered. During the congress, bookings can be made at the registration desk, subject to availability. Ticket fees may apply.
You can book your accommodation through the online registration form.
When you book your accommodation your credit card details will be provided to the hotel you have selected. Your credit card will not be charged when you make the initial booking. If the credit card you intend on using to pay for the accommodation does not belong to you, the hotel will require an authority form to be signed. Please read the terms and conditions before booking your room.
