ICMM Opening Ceremony

The opening ceremony will commence with the Welcome to Country, acknowledging the traditional custodians of the land and paying respects to their Elders past, present, and emerging.
This will be followed by inspiring speeches from our invited dignitaries. A ceremonial flag presentation, where flags representing the participating countries will be proudly displayed. This colorful and symbolic ceremony will represent the unity and diversity of the international military medicine community, reinforcing the global nature of the Congress and its inclusive spirit.
The keynote presentation will be delivered by Major General Timothy Hodgetts, Chair, Committee of Chiefs, Military Medical Services, NATO. He will delve into the themes of the Congress, exploring the latest advancements in miliary medicine. The presentation will set the stage for the discussions and sessions that would follow over the course of the Congress.
Adding a vibrant cultural touch to the event, local artists from Queensland will grace the stage with their stunning performances. These include traditional music and dance, as well as contemporary acts that will showcase the rich and diverse artistic talent of the region.
The Navy Band promises to entertain you with their performances.
Following the opening ceremony, the Exhibition Hall will be officially opened. Attendees are invited to join the dignitaries on a walk-through of the hall, where you will have the opportunity to explore a wide array of exhibitors from around the world. The Exhibition Hall will feature cutting-edge displays and interactive installations, offering a unique insight into military medicines and its developments.
The opening ceremony of the 2024 ICMM Congress promises to be a remarkable start to an enriching and engaging congress. The blend of cultural acknowledgment, intellectual discourse, and artistic expressions aim to set a high standard for the days to come, fostering a spirit of unity and shared purpose among the military medicine community.
